SHORT BIO:
Lindsay Bonilla is a professional storyteller and children’s book author. Having performed interactive theatre, shared stories and taught workshops all over the world, Lindsay is passionate about building understanding across cultures while inspiring the imagination. Lindsay is the author of six picture books, including Parents’ Choice Award winner, Polar Bear Island, The Storyteller (a 2025 Bank Street Best Children’s Book of Outstanding Merit and a 2025 Choose to Read Ohio booklist selection) and The Hole (a 2026 Bank Street Best Children’s Book and a 2026 Ohio Book Award Finalist, Juvenile Category). She lives with her husband and two wild and creative kids in North Canton, Ohio. When she’s not writing or performing, she’s usually traveling the world in search of adventure and story. LONG BIO:
Lindsay Bonilla is a storyteller and children’s book author from North Canton, Ohio. She spent her childhood voraciously reading books, scribbling stories, and taking the lead roles in her front porch solo stage plays. As a theatre and religion major at Northwestern University, she fell in love with folktales and world travel. This led her to Madrid where she spent a year and a half touring Spain and Portugal with the audience-participatory theatre company, Interacting.
Lindsay founded World of Difference Ltd. in 2007 with the aim of sharing high-energy, interactive storytelling programs based on folktales from around the world with audiences of all ages. Since then, she has had the opportunity to tell stories to school children in Haiti and Ghana and teach workshops to youth leaders in Guatemala and El Salvador. All of these experiences have made her passionate about building understanding and relationships across cultures while inspiring the imagination.
Lindsay is the author of Parents’ Choice Award winner, POLAR BEAR ISLAND; I LOVE YOU WITH ALL OF MY HEARTS; THE NOTE WHO FACED THE MUSIC; THE STORYTELLER (a 2025 Bank Street Best Children’s Book of Outstanding Merit and a 2025 Choose to Read Ohio booklist selection); YOU’VE GOT THIS; and THE HOLE (a 2026 Bank Street Best Children’s Book and a 2026 Ohio Book Award Finalist, Juvenile Category). Forthcoming titles include SUNDAYS FEEL LIKE HOME (Tommy Nelson/2027) and FAMILY IS ALWAYS (Nancy Paulsen/Penguin, 2028).
Lindsay’s love for travel has taken her to thirty three countries on five continents, but most days she can be found at home with her husband and two wild and creative sons.
